Massage Therapist

Position Summary

Definitions are currently looking for an experienced Registered Massage Therapist to provide therapeutic massage to their wide range of clientele. We are looking for highly motivated and professional employee to work with our multi-disciplinary team of Physicians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Kinesiology’s and other allied Health Care professionals. With our current clients and reputation as a leader in the delivery of Health and Wellness solutions, we will be looking to grow our rehabilitation services to meet our customers needs. Our new state of the art facility will allow all of Definitions’ health care providers to work together to provide St. John’s most comprehensive health and wellness center.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client assessments.
  • Administer appropriate massage treatments including soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, stretching techniques, finger/hand pressure to specific points on the body, trigger point therapy and drainage techniques.
  • Consult with other health care professionals to develop treatment plans for clients
  • Maintain relevant treatment records
  • Assist with daily cleaning chores.

Qualifications

    • Must be a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in Newfoundland at the time of your start date and have either been actively working as a massage therapist for a minimum of two years or have recently finished massage school
    • Current First Aid/CPR/AED training – HCP level Responsibilities
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
    • Strong commitment to service provision, self-learning and continuing education
    • Valid driver’s license, a good driver’s abstract and access to reliable transportation required
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position

Position Summary

Definitions are looking for a highly motivated and professional employee to help lead their Rehabilitation Division. We are looking for highly motivated and professional employee to work with our multi-disciplinary team of Physicians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Kinesiology’s and other allied Health Care professionals. With our current clients and reputation as a leader in the delivery of Health and Wellness solutions, we will be looking to grow our rehabilitation services to meet our customers needs. Our new state of the art facility will allow all of Definitions’ health care providers to work together to provide St. John’s most comprehensive health and wellness center.

Using professional knowledge, critical thinking and clinical judgement, the Physiotherapist will provide patient care, assessments, rehabilitation, exercise program prescription (Physiotec software) and all relevant documentation. They must be willing to work and volunteer his/her time for Physiotherapy related talks/mini seminars to local sports clubs, companies, etc. if needed. Additional qualities include professional attitude, be able to think outside the box, work well in fast paced environment, good communication skills (written and verbal) and works well with both a team and independently. Client base includes a wide range of individuals from all ages, activity levels and lifestyles.

Qualifications

  • Physiotherapy Degree from recognized University
  • Current licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Physiotherapy Association
  • Registered and licensed with the NL College of Physiotherapist
  • Member of Newfoundland & Labrador Physiotherapy Association and Canadian Physiotherapy Association required
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED training – HCP level Responsibilities
  • FCE certified an Asset
  • 3-5 years of experience

Clinic Adminstrator

Position Summary

An effective Clinic Office Administrator will provide a large variety of services to the staff and customers of the clinic/fitness facility. These include assisting or responsibility of operational and administrative functions, activities and projects for a multi-disciplinary care offices/fitness facility. It will be critical for this person to efficiently manage daily operations while adhering to applicable regulatory requirements. They will work collaboratively with the management team, supporting implementation of quality care and growth plans of Definitions Health and Wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations to include but not limited to compliance, inventory, scheduling, medical records management, cost containment, community and health plan activities, staffing, and training.
  • Ensure compliance with Provincial regulations (as necessary) and policies for health plan and clinic operations.
  • Manage clinical activities in collaboration with the management team.
  • Direct all billing and collecting procedures.
  • Comply with required workplace safety standards.
  • Review internal policies and procedures and recommend/write updates as indicated.
  • Assist in customer growth action plans.
  • Monitor delivery of patient services to include reviewing clinic activity data, forecasting, billing/collecting procedures, and government regulations and policies.
  • Complete special projects, as assigned, including reviewing and analyzing information, identifying problems, recommending solutions and writing reports.
  • Aid in clinic participation in studies, surveys, audits, etc.
  • Manage patient complaints for the clinics.

Qualifications

  • Office Administration Diploma (Medical would be an asset)
  • 3-5 years of secretarial experience in a health care setting.
  • Experience with clinic management software is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology would be an asset
  • Familiarity with insurance and medical billing preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in use of computers and other office equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
